The Army's Honorary dinner

Tuesday, September 26th

For 72 years the Army's Honorary medal has been handed over to members of the Danish army for good service for 25 years. The medal is handed over each year on King Christian 10th birthday, the same day is was ordained -September 26th 1945. The dinner took place at Fredensborg castle. One by one the 57 special invited guests arrived to the enlightened castle; all beautifully dressed in their finest clothes. Four members of the Danish royal family also attend the prestigious dinner. Prince Joachim and his beautiful wife Princess Marie arrived as the first ones followed by Crown Princess Mary who was on her own. Crown Prince Frederik was on an official business promotion in China the evening the honorary dinner took place. This is why the Crown Princess attended on her own. Nevertheless, she was in a splendid mood with a huge smile on her face when she arrived. It is always with great commitment she, along with the rest of the family, attend official events like these. We got a short glimpse of the beautifully decorated room in which the dinner was about to take place. It was enlightened by huge chandeliers and candles, golden chairs to sit on and magnificent flower decorations on the table to admire for hours. The scene was set for a wonderful evening.

For the evening event, Mary was dressed in her dazzling pink creation custom made by Danish designer David Andersen. I have had the desire to see her wear this gown again since the last time in 2012, here. Often you tend to forget that Mary has worn her clothes more than once. The goes with this stunning evening gown. We saw it the first time in 2011 at a wedding in Monaco, here and then again the following year. Five years since we have seen it, so I think it is about time she'll wear it again. And she did for the Army's Honorary dinner at Fredensborg castle. Not that many pictures have been published, which is quite a shame. I would love to have seen many more. Especially, some close-ups. That would have been nice. Well, that's not the case. Nevertheless it does not take that many pictures to identify what she was wearing. She embraced an elegance and polish look with the red ruby parure and her golden Cartier bracelet. Both the metallic pumps from Manolo Blahnik and raspberry red Carlend Copenhagen clutch, here, have been worn at several different occasions. With a smashing hairstyle and stunning makeup, I would say she looked her very best. While Mary was in pink and matching accessories, her sister-in-law Princess Marie embrace a chic look very all black.
